Default Any advantage to "raising" BOV off the charge pipe?

I'm almost done with collecting all my turbo goodies. I'm gonna be using a DSM BOV in my setup. I've seen some pics of people mounting their BOV raised off the charge pipe by welding a stubby piece of pipe between the bov flange and the charge pipe. Versus just welding the flange ON the charge pipe.

Is there any reason to do this or not to do this?

Thanks

I can't think of any reason to do it. Sometimes it allows for easier access to the bolts that hold the bov on.. If you just welded the flange right to your tubing, it would be hard if not impossible to get the bolts through.

makes it easier to weld if you add a short pipe. I just did this a couple days ago. Other than that I don't see any advantage.
