Another Washington Vitara setup, 300+
***updates on page2***
Well yesterday i finally got the car dyno'd. The owner uses a DynoCom dyno, i never heard of it but from what ive gathered its a variation of the Dynojet.
Results are: 323whp 257tq @ 18-19psi I wanted to go more but ran out of injectors.
The first run on street tune netted 314whp 249trq
Set up includes:
t3/t4 50trim .48 ar
Stock z6 head
TT I-beam rods
Vitara pistons
Devil's Own Alky injection kit
92 pump (alky injection is the ****)
walbro 190
dsm450cc injectors
Crome
2.5 motorola map
Tuned by me

I really wish i had larger injectors, i wasn't really expecting anything really... so i wasn't prepared for breaking 314whp on my first run.
I need to reinstall my obx lsd then i'll be ready to try a run at low 12s? maybe 11s with some practice??

thats alot of power for 450 injectors.. whats your duty cycle and fuel pressure?
and that is plenty of power to run 11's on slicks

I'm just running stock fuel pressures. And actually i maxed out the injectors on the dyno, it was kind of scary, but the Alky injection certaintly gave me more room.

ah yes good point.. I was gonna say wiht my jrsc gsr i was almost maxing my 510's at 250whp.. but i hear the jrsc usually takes more fuel than a avg. turbo setup.
there is a sohc vitara built 4 door here that goes 11's@118 he runs about 20--23lbs of boost.. but its a full weight 4 door. and the elevation doenst help

Because horsepower and torque are on different scales [left (400hp) and right (300tq) hand sides].

i know this has probably been answered plenty of times but i got a question about the pistons, ive been searching ebay for a while and they never pop up so are all you guys running the vitaras getting them from a zuki dealer or where are you guys finding them online, and how much stronger are the ls rods than z6 rods?

FJT has them... also you will probably want to go with a forged rod.

As far as my set up goes, i think there is still alot in it. I just need larger injectors. I was only using a 2gph nozzle and basicly using alky for suplementation, i didn't want to set up to be completely dependant on the alky in fear of what might happen when the alky runs out.
You know what happens when the alcohol runs out... In Washington, last call is at 2am, i hate it when that happens.
FJT has them... also you will probably want to go with a forged rod.

Ive gotten a couple PMs about the Alky setup... here are some pics.
I chose the Devil's Own unit because of the flexibility of the "progressive universal kit," and its very attractive price, $289! (alky container is extra)
I decided to mount it in the trunk.
The progressive controler is fully digital, another reason why i chose this kit, and its a no-brainer to set up. Its also super small compared to others progressive controlers.
the nozzle is mounted in a semi stealth fashion on the underside of the charge pipe.
Ive been really happy with the ease of use of the progressive controler.
Some argue that 100% methanol is better than a 50/50mix. The main reason i chose the mix formula is b/c i don't want to have to deal with the toxicity of methanol in my daily driver. I'm still young, i don't want to go blind.

Very very nice setup.
my vitara build will be under way once i get em
If I'm not mistaken I think water has better cooling properties than methanol does, and thats what its doing, cooling the cylinder walls, pistons, blah blah blah etc. Somebody correct me because I'm probably wrong.

Sorry i should have made it more clear, You will want to contact the HT member "FJT," he is the authorized suzuki vitara dealer. LoL...
Well, for the price of the TunerToys rods, the question is... why not go with the cheap China made forged rods?? But to answer you question, it will probably depend on the quality of the tune. Its apparent that the Vitara pistons will hold up to 300-350whp, but i personally wouldn't feel comfortable running around on 300+whp on stock rods.

I have the same turbo and I have been wondering how it would perform at about 18 psi, isnt that really spinning the living hell out of such a small turbo? If not I'm thinking of Vitara'ing mine very soon and cranking that bitch up.
