Icon2 Another turbo advise question

Hello all,
I have read the forum for years, but barely decided to join in on the fun. Most of you are probably annoyed by this question being asked so often, but I can honestly say that I have done tons of research, and just cant seem to decide on which turbo would best fit my needs. Here are the important notes of my build:

Stock sleeve GSR 81.5 mm
Arias pistons about 10.3:1 ish compression (havn't completely calculated it out yet)
Manley "Turbo Tuff" rods
B16 head
Pro 1 cams
Skunk 2 valvetrain
Sheepey top-mount
3inch DP
ID 1000cc injectors
24.5 M and H for track

My power goals are 350-375 on pump and 550ish on Q16 if we feel like it.
Now here's part of the problem. I have an ITR tranny and will need to rev to 9500 ish rpm's to get the trap the speeds that I could possibly be hitting. I know everyone will tell me to use GSR tranny but I like being different. Money isn't a limiting factor. The car does get driven on the street but its only 20 times a year right now, if that. And I do NOT do racing from a roll, so quick spool is not necessarily my main concern. 1/4 mile racing only

I need a turbo that: A. can produce the power I would like and B. wont run out of breath at high RPM's

As of right now I'm leaning towards GT35R, but would like some more convincing. If more info is needed, feel free to ask.

Thank you ahead of time for the help.

Borg Warner S258/S259, S362, EFR 7670, and i'm sure someone will chime in with the Precision 6262 or something similar...these all roughly meet your goals but each have their pros/cons. If this was my setup, I would seriously look at the EFR series from Borg Warner. They do require a little extra work because they're dimensionally different than standard T3/T04 turbos, but its a minor difference. They also have integrated WG and BOV

a GT35R for only 375whp? WAY too big, and 550whp on Q16? hehe. You only need about 60lbs/min or slightly less to do that. You don't even need a GT35R to do it, much less some 6262.

I'd also lose the topmount but keep the transmission. That would help with that more than anything. But there's no need to do a 75lbs/min turbocharger when 60lbs/min will work, and can even make more later, so you don't have to worry about "time to GROW"..

What's the budget on the turbocharger itself?

Thank you for the replies. I think the reason that I was looking GT35R was because I was thinking its going to work for my next build as well. I have a spare block im getting sleeved and will be shooting much higher (reason for top mount). But ive only had 400 hp max in my car before, so I am doing a 550 hp build so I can get used to the power. As far as budget, I can spend pretty much whatever is needed. Dont get me wrong, if I can save money and get a turbo that will be sufficient for both builds then great, if not, its part of the game. And im not worried about street performance at all. The car only really see's boost during tuning and the track. I like to think I have disciplined throttle control on the street.

Thanks again for your time.

I guess the question is what more are you looking for with regard to feedback that for the most part hadn't already been said? What specific issues are you having difficulty grasping?
Turbocharger choice? Manifold choice? (See the thread "which manifold is for me?" In the FAQs.)
You're welcome to check these GSR turbo threads out, but we can't read minds. The more you're inquiring specifically, the more we can help.

Sorry, I did not read the post thoroughly enough, as I was at work. I will be looking for a turbo that flows approximately 60lbs/minute as suggested. Thanks again.

TheShodan, do you have a suggestion for a turbo that flows the suggested 60lbs/min? I kind of have an unlimited budget, so price isnt the issue. Thanks
