another B16 hp question. can it be done ?
is this possible??
stock B16 block
head:
ti retaiers
ITR inner springs
Portflow outers
lighly ported
Skunk2 IM
Hondata S200
Precision SC63 turbo
Full Race mani
RC 550cc injectors.
i'm told this will rev to 9k rpm, maybe more. what do you guys think?
i'm wanting to hit 300whp on 91 octane.
possible??
anyone know how much torque the B16 can hold?
i did a search and found nobody with this setup. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

possibly ARP studs..
i CAN run a thicker head gasket if i need to. i could use the lower compression anyway.

yes its easily possible. BUT...
1) you don't need to rev that high to get 300hp. this will make it alot harder on your motor.
2) that turbo is WAY TO BIG for a goal of 300hp.

good news. i don't want to HAVE to rev to 9k.
turbo too big...yes, we know this.. but i already have it.
it's on a GS-R motor that WAS going to built some day. had a goal of 500whp. now, reality is settling in and i'm realizing that won't be happening any time soon.

trade you the 34 and you pay for my new tune?? hahahah

cool. i've also decided to go with a smaller turbo if i can get rid of my current one. i'm gonna be on a stock motor for a while and don't need a turbo capable of eleventy billion horsepower.

what effect would it have if the motor had GS-R cams instead of B-16 or the CTR cams?

Good valve train setup 9,000RPM is possible with that setup but you wont need to rev that high.

that is good news for me! i don't WANT to rev it any higher than need be "overbuilt and underpowered" is our motto.

why does everyone look only at the head for rpm limitations? stock rods and pistons wont like high rpms to much....i say keep stock redline until the bottom end gets some attention

you won't need to at all...i stopped @ 7800rpms and still easily made over 300whp (t3/to4e 60 trim)

I second the motion for a smaller snail. Lag will own you. Trade for that SC34 and love your life when boost hits!

yes, i know all this. the turbo is all i have right now. Reilly wants to keep his 'cause though he is going 2L, he will be at 9.5:1 comp. he's worried about spooling the SC63 even still.
i gotta work with what i have.
