Default For all you 18G guys

Just had a full 3 inch done on my 99si and thought that i would share with you guys that have the Greddy kits what i had done.

Setup is ATP turbo's V-band discharge some stainless Tig welded bends and a lot of fab work and skill done by a local to me named Jeremy.

This is what was taken off ....

This is what the new 3 inch downpipe looks like with the V-band discharge...

What do you guys think. Oh and the car feels like it picked up about 20whp on the butt dyno. Same tune, running conservative timing and AFR's.

Do you plan on ever upgrading your wastegate. Sorry to get off topic but I was just wondering. Your DP looks great btw. ATP has the best VBand Flanges btw and for the best prices you could find.

Thanks for the input guys.

As far as boost creep i see about a 2psi creep in first gear but i think thats due to the stock wastegate/port/flapper/tires spinnig. The car feels so much more responsive when given a load as well as the spool time being about 500+ rpm's sooner.

I couldn't be happier.

As far a the wastegate i want to switch to external and ditch that manifold, but i dont think thats going to happen till next summer.

the ford wastegate wont matter, the flappers are the same size.

lol.

you could put the bigger diaphragm on there, that might help a bit.
but the wg hole needs to be ported. and a slightly larger flapper needs to be installed as well

I am not too sure about the Ford wastegate thing but i think i am either going external in the future or changing the whole setup.

thanks for the positive input guys

I've been juggling whether I should go 3" or stay 2.5". I keep convincing myself 2.5" is 'good enough' because i cant afford a new 3" exhaust & downpipe. Damn you for making me want 3" again!

I'll tell you it was worth every penny too!

Aside from removing the A/C when the heat has been around 100* for the last week or so here.

The whole thing with all the fab work and pipes and so on was just short of $500, but its the best thing i have done with this kit that i am stuck with.

i can tell you what, jeremy (my brother) hates welding with the TIG still (he just started doing stainless).. he is a wizard with a mig though, and an excellent fabricator. he'll be going to school for welding soon, and it should only get better.

he is completely self taught...and he stands by his work 100%. he's probably done around 100 exhausts, maybe more.

your stuff that was on there was JUNK for making power, now you've got some potential! haha

hope to meet ya someday

I should take some pictures of his Mig's they are very impressive, as is the whole exhaust he did. Now i am just waiting to get the car re-tuned.

yeah, rustoleum high temp is EXCELLENT stuff.

it will keep that thing from getting all rusty, etc.

I think i used the same thing on my intercooler piping and its held up pretty well. The only thing that ever worries me is just all the salt and **** in the winter.

Awesome looking pipe!

I want to upgrade, but removing AC is not an option. I'm trying to find a premade 2.5 inch DP for sale.

Good fab... welds look a bit hot, though.
