Default all those w/maxrev BOV

so i was test fitting everything yesterday on my car, i cut and cut and cut and assembled until i got the perfect fit.......i was like wow cant wait to get this thing on the road.

i took everything apart and headed down to the local welding shop to get the BOV welded on and to my disappointment i was told they wont be able to do it. they told that they cant weld the maxrev BOV aluminum flange to steel piping.

i not knowing jack **** about welding didnt know this. so wat i am asking is for all those that are running this BOV where did you get aluminum piping or wat is your method of gettting the damn thing on.......??

help a boost hungry fellow out.

Get somebody to make you a steel flange, or buy one... trust me it will be A LOT less headache. First if you find anyone that can weld Al then it will usually be a little more in price, second finding Al piping to make a charge pipe is not going to be easy if at all possible. Hope this helps

Later,

Sean C.

This has been covered a million times...in fact, I asked it like a year and a half ago.

Anyway, that's strange that they are including al. flanges when nobody uses aluminum piping...

anyone try using a steel Greddy flange? I read before that the maxrev bov fits on blitz/greddy mounts.

I also want to know why they included an aluminum flange with steel piping...

heres a quick fix that works:

get a aluminum pipe the same size as urs, weld on the flange, and use hose clamps to connect to your steel piping. this should work, but its not that pretty.

do u guys know if the steel flange is in the ne maxrev kits? i just ordered a kit just a few days ago.

yea that should work. location is personal preference, some like it half way, some like it all the way to the top by the t-body. all up to u. i dunno which is ideal though, id think some where between the t-body and halfway is good.

heres somethign im gonna try. on EBAY theres a lot of generic CAI selling for like 45 bucks with a filter. id get one like this and hack it up for the BOV flange, and the remainder piping id make a filter for the turbo. since the maxrev doesnt come with one. remember though, some of those intake pipes are 2.5 inches and 3 inches. make sure to get the one u want. the maxrev pipes are 2.25 inch. i maybe u have to use the intake pipe as the charge pipe.

has anyone used the aem cold air intake as a charge pipe?
my max rev piping is 2.25 and my aem is 2.5
will this be a problem
i might a steel flange from a greddy (im pretty sure it fits the mav rev bov)

is using a cold ar intake for a charge pipe ghetto??
or does it perform just as well as a steel charge pipe

thanks

you can use the CAI for a charge pipe.

As far as the GReddy and max rev sharing the same flange....wrong..the design is the same but the MAx rev BOV and flange is slightly smaller..you can get it to work but you have to redrill the holes in the flange to make it work correct...i did and it looks like ***...so i called max rev and i should be getting a nex flange in the near future.

hopefully my kit has the steel flange. and ill just hack up my regular intake for the turbo intake. anyway if u find any other way around it let us know. i have no idea what aluminum flanges would be for... maybe for supercharger bovs?

I tried getting an answer to this too about a week ago. It boggled me that they would sell steel DIY pipes and send an alluminum BOV flange. SO will they swap out the alum. flange with steel flange for free? I hope so.

its really not kyles fault, more like maxrevs. u should call maxrev and tell them. kyle is just the distributor. the turbo kits get sent out from maxrevs location.
