all motor or boost??
I have a '93 Hatch. It's pretty much still a virgin. I haven't quite decided what I would like to do the the car motor-wise. What do you guys think will give me the best performance?
My options are:
B16A2
JDM 1.5 L
Stock 1.5L Vtec-E, build & boost
Money is no issue. I don't want to spend a whole lot though, and I don't want to go Type-R or LS Vtec, or anything big. I'm just looking to get a little more power. I want to at least feel the Vtec.
Any opinions and/or advice is appreciated.

Even though I am a hardcore d-series guy... I say sgo with the b16.
It does depend on your goals, but if you even plan on building your motor and making a lot of horsepower you will be better off with a b-series. I will always be d-series, but things would defintely be easier and a little cheaper if I had started off with a b-series motor.

Why do you say that ?
What would be easier/cheaper ? I'm not fully understanding and would like to know as much as i can when it comes to this subject.
I'm a d-series fan for street/daily driver apps when it comes to cost effectiveness for ppl on budgets. However, i would surely be for a b-series with the right setup ( nsxmatt comes to mind running VERY low 12's with a b16 on 6 psi ) if money permits.

I'm talking about high horsepower (400+). I am at the point now where I want to build my motor. A simple rod/piston setup in my d16 just isn't going to cut it for me. For the kind of power I want I would need to build the **** out of my head and have a very efficient turbo setup. D-series motors aren't nearly as efficient as B-series motors. They also won't make close to the amount of power on pump gas, which is what I will be running most of the time. If I had a b18c1/5 (what I would go with if I could start over) just going with rods/pistons will get me over 500whp with a good turbo setup.

All-motor in a D15-vtec is going to take a lot of money to go fast.
Just boost it and you'll be happy.
There are lots of D-series parts OE and aftermarket that will let you mess around with a D-series to keep you happy and spending.

although i am a die hard boost head..
if you want a fun street car do a mild ls/vtec all motor setup with some sick suspension and tire selection. my buddies car is 10000000000x more fun to cruise than my car. my car isnt even safe on the street do to how much power it has. but again its up to you. either way you will have some coin, my next project is a mild all motor car just to have fun with. probley turn the turbo car into a track queen.
B16 swap for the head/dizzy/trans.
and get a cheap 100 dollar ls block and do some jdm b16 pistons and mild skunk/toda cams with valve-train to support it.

it depends on how much u want to work on it, ive had all motor and boosted and ill say hands down boosted if tight as hell but its more maintance, i would suggest K20A, we did one and holy crap that thing halls ***!! its fast and reliable, he put 3 lengths on a z28 camaro with a ls1 swap in it, our guess is that it will run high 12's in the 1/4 mile, but you have to lose one thing....A/C.... but if you got the money you can still have A/C, but let just say that there is custom work in this swap but if i had to do a motor swap all over again i would have done the k20 any day
