Air flow through radiator
Will finding more room for a turbo setup, my stock fans look like they'll need to go.
Was considering a mishimoto fan shroud with fans or just putting slim fans on my full sized rad.
I see pros and cons to both setups, and was looking for insight.
Shroud with slim fans-
Pros:
Even cooling over full rad
Cons:
blocks air flow through rad at higher speeds.
Slim fans directly on rad-
Pros:
Better air movement through rad at speeds
Cons:
Only pulls air through space of fans, not whole rad. You can feel the difference on the rad.
Input>?

Re: Air flow through radiator
Well, My freind built a shroud for his 68 pickup and he found some little rubber flappers that he installed around the solid parts of his shroud. these will open as air pushes through the radiator at speeds and close when idling in traffic. this gives you the best of both worlds. Check SPAL FANS website they make the flaps.

Re: Air flow through radiator
If you can fit a shroud definately run one, the mishi works well we put one on my friends car it always ran hot on the return road at the track put the mishi shroud on and a decent fan and the car doesnt see 200deg no matter what, also using a bottle of water wetter.
When you run just a fan your not pulling air across the full area of the radiator, a fan mounted on a shroud will pull the air through the whole surface and cool it much better.

Re: Air flow through radiator
If its a ful sized radiator cooling should not be an issue with this car, that being said run dual shrouded fans seporatly or the FAL dual unit. the shroud helps out alot by pulling the air accross the whole surface area of the radiator instead of just the size of the fan
