Turbo air filter-boxes SHOW OFF

Where do have your airfilter and did you protect it with a kind of heatshield from sucking in hot air? Show us your improvements. Any benefits noticeable on the butt dyno?

what ?!?!?! Everybody runs the filter without a heatshield and fresh-air ducts?

Hell man, you only waited 3-1/2 hours and you think we can respond that fast? this ain't no live chat room. Give it a day for responses.

As for me, Right now i don't have any heatsheilds, but i am still adjusting my system.

but the air after the intercooler is more cooler when it gets colder air from outside.

what we usually do is build a scoop going straight to the filter. We use a 45 degree bend from the turbo inlet to a plastic pipe with a fitler on it then we run a cold duct modled plastic at the bottom of the car and direct it to the filter.

i dont know anyone using a heat shield on their turbo application... the air gets compressed and heats up anyways... then gets cooled off somewhat by the IC.

this is what i got. it is not pretty but it works. the pipe heat wrap works great though. huge improvement, drives so much better when it is hot. if you look at the black pipe going into the bumper for my cold air intake, you will notice that it if from a stock civic intake. well the part used as a resinator.

That's what I did, except I used dryer ducting.
I have the 45 degree silicone connector I got from b18bturbo on the inlet, which goes to a short piece of 3" tubing, to another 45 degree coupling that flares out to mate with my A'PEXi filter.
Then I have 4" dryer ducting aimed at the filter and running to the hole on the left side of my bumper:
