like it says, after i do a 3-4th gear pull my car will throw a code 5 (map sensor code) and it will stay at that rpm but wont rev or nothing, and if i push in the clutch and take it out of gear it drops to idle and has not throttle response. the car has a motorola 2.5 bar and is tuned on uberdata. the wires are soldiered to the 2.5 bar and have heat shrink on them and electric tape. and i used the stock map sensor connector and took pins and slid them into it off of an old connector. they are electric taped seperately and then electric taped into the connector. only running 11.5psi. what would make it do this but only on a higher gear pull? lmk. thanks

sounds liek detonation is causing a knock in the cyclinders, i would imagine the tune or something is off, stop pushing the car till you have it checked out unless you fell like walking everywhere and spending thousands on a new motor.

have you tried going back under 11 lbs and trying the stock sensor, provided you change it back in uber. just to see if its a sensor or wiring problem.

it never did this with my old turbo setup running 10psi with the stock map sensor. i dont know what could be doing it. i got another 2.5 bar map sensor that i am currently in the process of wiring into the car to see if it is a defective sensor. is the sensor supposed to be mounted somewhere specific in the engine bay? does excessive heat damage the sensor? i had it hanging right off the tb on the vac line. lmk. thanks

I would say bring it to the dyno and have either the guy that tuned it or have another uberdata tuner re-tune it in those gears, I highly doubt your motorala sensor went bad

it was street tuned in third gear. it does it in third and fourth. (never done a full 5th pull) i moved the sensor back towards the firewall where the battery was(eg). so i'm hoping that with moving it and the new sensor that maybe it will solve it. is there a glitch in the uberdata software that other people have had this problem with?

also i'm going to be taking it back to him to have it retuned with bigger injectors, but i want to work out any problems with the car before i drive 2.5 hours up to him. this happened when he was tuning it, so we pulled the pins out of hte connector and retaped them and it didnt do it anymore while i was up there. then a little after i got back it started doing it again, i retaped them like 3 times and checked the connections and they are all good. i dont know what it could be. i'm getting ready to take the car out with the new map sensor in. hope it works!!!

well took it out with the new map sensor in and it still doin the same thing. third gear pull, then put it in fourth for a second and let off the gas decelerating and it threw the code again and the car had no throttle response, restarted it and the code went away and it was fine. i'm at a loss. someone please help me out...

dont know if it makes a difference or not but i actually think it was a code 3 that it was throwing. i dont check it everytime it does it, i just did the first time it did it and it is responding the same so i'm going to go ahead and assume it is the same code. i dont always have a place to pull over and check it on the roads that i'm on. anyways, hope someone can help me out thanks in advance.

Code 3 and 5 are both MAP codes. I have never gotten a motorola to run correctly w/ uberdata. I either use a GM 3bar w/ UD Version 1.70 or OE map sensor w/ either 1.70 or 1.66. I've never run into your problem but, when I've tried to tune cars running the Motorola the engine never wanted to idle smooth and I would get a MAP code intermittently. A simple switch to my spare 3bar cleared things right up so, I'll never use the Motorola MAP w/ Uberdata. I'd switch to a GM 3bar and see what happens. Just get the tuner to make you a 3bar basemap beforehand.

Thanks for the input Phil, i think i'm going to try a gm 3 bar that was going to be the next thing i did. it seems to me that no matter what problems you could possibly have with something it seems to happen to me. and they are usually stupid problems that most people have never run into. There are pleanty of people out there running uberdata with a 2.5 bar having no problems, but leave it to me to be the one with the problems. i guess i'll have to see if i can find a 3 bar in the classifieds with a pigtail. hopefully that will fix the problem, anyone else have any more input on what i could possibly do to fix this? thanks again.

I hear ya dude. I always seem to run into the dumbest little problems as well. However, I find the solution(s) and press on. It makes me a better tuner/mechanic. I've always had problems w/ Crome but, at some peoples request I've figured out the bugs and used it to tune their cars. I still use UD for my personal stuff . Keep us updated bro and good luck.
