Default Aerochargers?

I read a book called Maximum Boost by Corky bell. (btw i recommend this book to anyone planning on turboing there car.) anyways he talked about a turbo called the Aerocharger. It spools up much faster then regular turbos without sacrificing top end.

I am wondering why we havent seen any cars equiped with these. is it because of cost, availability, or what? they seem pretty bad *** and seem like a good solution to giving hondas a much needed bottem end without sacrificing top end.

really the problem is size. They don't go much larger than a T3, and they really can't do high boost pressures.

They are VATN turbos. They are small and do not flow air all that well. On motors with high flow (aka the NSX they use it on in the book), they have to do a twin turbo setup.

They are cool though, because they are efficient in not wasting exhaust gas w/ a wastegate.

I think I posted about this a few months ago. I quoted an article that came out in popular mechanics. But that was a long time ago.
