Default AEM UEGO Wideband Display?

What do you guys that use the AEM UEGO wb use for a display? I heard they were not releasing a display until later this year.. I do not have an EMS system, for I'm running the SAFC Hack. I do however have an extra bung on my exhaust that I made for a wideband, it's plugged up with a bolt for now.

I want to purchase this system, but I really would need a display. My laptop is running on Slackware Linux, so I don't have any Windows software. I just wanted to see what you other guys were running when using this product.

currently if you dont have an ems or someother standalone you cant see the numbers. if you have the equipment you could recalibrate a autometer guage to read the 1volt output

Why can't you just use a volt meter to read the output. All you need to know is what the voltage relates too.

Its really not that difficult to do if you wanted to make it yourself.

This is really basic electronics, to use electronics.

i would still like to know how to do it myself, but here is 1 way:

http://www.plxdevices.com/onlinestore.htm

this is what they had to say:
Vinny,

Thank you for taking interest in our wideband products. The Autometer narrowband to wideband gauge converter allow you to display wideband information on any autometer gauge. You will need one of our M-series controllers, an autometer air/fuel gauge and the autometer NB->WB converter box. I hope this helps. Thanks. Would you like to be notified when the M-300s are in stock?

PLX Devices Inc

but as im sitting here thinking about it, the aem has a narrow band output right? so just hook the autometer gage to that part, ha.

thing is the converter or the narrow output is cutting the voltage range down to 1 volt. wouldnt it be better to have some led's setup to read the 0-5, or in hondata's users case 0-3.81.

yea, people on the aem board have used the narrow output and say it is pretty close on the autometer gauge...im personally waiting for the display i think it has a circular display as well as a digital display in the center.

that is what the display is going to look like. if i rember correctly they also said that the controler was going to be built into the guage so you wont have an extra box to hide somewhere

WTF!?!? The controller and gauge are going to fit into one lil 52mm package? I have to see it to believe it

That is cool, but the UEGO is supposed to have a 1.5V er whatever output, so you can use that output with an autometer gauge. It will be more accurate than a Lambda, but not as high of resolution as the 5V output.

I just got my AEM UEGO and let me tell you, that box that look big on the pictures...if ******* puny.

look at it compared to the O2 sensor on the right...this thing is probably about 2 x 3 x .5

I believe you have to splice the harness, so the WB output goes in the standard O2 input. Better check your EMS diagram/manual to be sure though.

So are you disappointed in the size of the unit? I woner how well it works(if at all), even though its such a small size? It probably sucks. you need to sell it to me and search of a larger wideband unit that will fit your needs.

The AEM UEGO hooks up with three wires. The red wire needs to go to ignition switched power, the black goes to ground (regular ground NOT sensor ground), and the orange wire goes to your Lambda 1 input at the EMS. You can wire it in to the stock O2 sensor's connector for power and signal. White on the factory sensor connector is signal and yellow/black is switched +12V. You can then just ground the black wire of the UEGO to any chassis ground (nearest bolt). It's funny you guys are suprised by the small size. Not all widebands need to be the size of FJO's black box! By the way, I have an NTK sensor and blue box controller for sale if anyone is interested. Recently calibrated. Hit me up by PM and make an offer.
