Default AEM short ram with JRSC

I recently ordered an AEM short ram (under hood) intake for my JRSC. I (sort of) installed it this evening.

Some problems:

Presses against AC lines near the throttle body.

Had to bend the support to make it line up with the Airbox mounting point . (yes the airbox is out)

The air filter sits too high and is prbably ontacting the underside of the hood. (the hood does close)

THe breather hose (I think that is what it is called) does not line up easily with the fitting on the intake. It is now connected by a vacuum hose which is in a corkscrew shape to connect the two.

Anyone have any experience in modifying one of these intakes to fit the JRSC application for a 96 GSR?

Thanks!

Are you sure the intake is the right one for your car? I've never heard of this happening, but you probably won't get much help on this board, most people here are turbo and dont' like the JRSC much.

I don't have a GSR but I know that because your throttle body is located lower due to the JRSC you will have to alter things a bit to get a good fit. Can you sinply twist the intake (hose clamps lose of course) so that the filter lies in another location? You can also get a breather filter for the head and get a plug for the opening on the intake to eliminate your problem with the breather hose.

Quick question: what is the diameter of the piping on the AEM GSR intakes??

It doesn't fit right because the throttle body is about two inches lower than stock with the JRSC kit. You can either modify it or JR and Comptech both make an intake to fit cars with the JRSC.
