Accurate and safe wastegate location?
Im talking about the hole on the turbine which attaches to the downpipe flange. (Above the turbine wheel). Is that a good location to run a tube to a ext waste gate? I am trying to get equal pressure reduction to all four cylinders when wastegate opens.

Re: Accurate and safe wastegate location? (SO3Burner)
Hmm, not sure what the compressor wheel has to do with the wastegate? Maybe you mean the turbine wheel... In any case the ideal location for the wastegate bleed would be at the collector of the exhaust manifold... the small bleed hole in the turbine housing isn't the best choice because of the small ( usually ~ 3/4") diameter of the hole. It's also not at the best angle relative to the exhaust flow ( 90 degrees to exhaust flow in the turbine inlet). Placing the wastegate feed on the collector would allow for the most "even" exhaust bleed.

Hmmm...that sucks...
....because I was planning on modifying a Greddy SOHC kit for A Tial 35mm wg.
Should I try and cut into the manifold for the wg? What's the worst that could happen hooking it up in the housing? Can the bleed hole be opened up?
TIA,
- Slater
