my first thought is yes, but i would look on the aem website under the forum search around. next thing i would due is find the ems that goes with the 96 teg , and then the one that goes with the 00 teg, and then in the software installation section there is a bunch of pdfs that list what pins goes where.

you might even be able to get it to work without the conversion harness by moving the nessesary pins around according to the pin out diagram for your car and the 00 ems.

but almost 100% that with an conversion harness it will work.

all i got to add is that if u upgrade firmware, make sure u compare calibrations to make sure everything is right. for some reason, when i did mine, my ignition tooth changed and had me running around in circles trying to figure out why i was detonating.

If you are planning to buy the EMS just buy the correct one. Why complicate things by using the converter harness?

The AEM EMS is complicated as it is and I guarantee you will have some small issues to begin with. The last thing you want to do is trouble little BS issues that could be avoided by getting the correct box.

However, if you already own the box then the decision is up to you.

It might work in that case. The only way to find out is to make sure the pin-outs are in the right spots.

the ems will work fine with a jumper harness.. just make sure to use the base calibration for the specific ems you have

b_ron... if you read the instructions on the ems forum about updating the firmware it specificly states that you should resync the timing

Correct sir. It will work fine. I have noticed a few differences when running an OBD1 distributor, but still no problems.
