Default aem cai for charge pipe?

I read somewhere you could use your AEM CAI for a turbo charge pipe, isn't it too big? That thing seems like it's 3" od or more. Should I just sell it and go DIY?

The only 3" AEM cai is the one for the type r...the only reason why I wouldnt use it..is because welding that BOV flange is a b@tch since the pipe is so thin...and I think its aluminum...can be done...though.

I'm using a DC sports DAC intake for my last piece of charge pipe... I did end up having to use JB weld to attach the BOV flange to the aluminum pipe so that wasn't exactly the cleanest way to do the job but it worked.
