hey im going to be driving my car to so cal to tune.Since towing will be an issue cause it cost to much.What im looking for is advice on how should i drive my car to la? so i wont be in boost. Here is my set up incase you guys are wondering

Is the price for a tow or to rent a trailor really worth blowing your engine?

i dont have a truck to tow up the grape vines. Towing would cost about 600+.
That's what i'm tryna save as this is my third time rebuilding my motor. Both times the motor gave on the dyno.I can show a picture of one of the graphes to show it wasnt the build atleast from what i was told. i just lost my job so im tryna figure a way of getting my car there by driving.

i kinda feel its the best choice. i can find a truck to tow it as close as i can to my sister house, which is near bakersfield. Maybe i can find someone to tow for me over the grape vine.But if theres another alternative it would be great. im in the process of posting the graph of the one tune i had

You don't know anyone with a truck you could use and rent a trailor? Maybe even rent a truck or something and tow it there. Also what ems are you on? Do you even have a basemap

If you applied a positive pressure on the wastegate higher than 9psi, wouldn't that hold the gate open, keeping the boost at close to 0? I would still keep an eye on the boost gauge though...I'd drive it real easy, never go higher than like 5 in/Hg.

all decent quality part and a ebay BOV?.... Youre tuner should be able to get u a base graph to run the 750cc on....Or use oem base map(supplied with s300 software) with factory injectors and drive to tuner with charge pipe disconnected if youre absolutly set on driving it....Youre taking a risk, but should be ok with what i mentioned


Also ring seating procedures as stated above is a good idea...so if youre too rich on those 750's they wont seat properly...Thats why i said oem injectors with base map

i plan on asking church for a basemap. hrmm i never thought of renting a truck to tow. i dont know anyone of a truck capable of making it over the grapevines. should i go talk to uhaul about renting one of their trucks and a trailer? any idea of how much it will cost?

yeah ebay wastegate i will be upgrading that forsure.As for the driving with the charge pipe disconnected i was told that is bad for the turbo.

i do plan on babying the motor to get it tune. That's if i do drive it

i just killed my rings driving literally 3miles to the tuner..you might as well just start burning whatever money you have now, because you throwing it away driving an untuned setup that far.. maybe you could load a stock map and throw some stock injectors in there and set boost cut to 1psi, but its still a 2liter 10:1 motor me personally wouldnt even do it.

i have not beat on the motor yet. though i wish i could feel how its gonna feel once i can beat on it

man sounds like i will be just spending the money on finding a way to tow it. i really dont want to risk anything. since this is pretty much my last shot at it .

if you dont want to risk then tow it. thats what i would do....unless he can give you a good base map. I would talk to youre tuner for advice then go off of peoples responses on the internet...he is going to be tuning it and will know what he feels is best

If your running a standalone load a basemap and baby the **** outta it until you get to the tuner if you dont want to tow it..

You can drive no problem to your tuner if you just stay out of boost and in low rpm

i had a talk with him a while back suggested a way of driving it there but driving it sounds way to risky.im pretty sure im gonna tow it i just gotta find the cheapest way to tow it. any body looking to make some money?

I still wouldnt maybe if you had a good basemap from your tuner and you took it super easy. But still it is a really far drive, where would you be driving from?and your taking it to churches?
