I wanna add a knock sensor to my Z6 turbo build.
Can I just use one off of a Y8 block?
Is there any aftermarket ones available?
My EMS is S300, so it has a spot for it to be read.
Just trying to see whats out there.
Not having one is kinda scary in a way.
Any help will be appreciated.

i'm putting a z6 into my 97 civic.
i'm converting it to OBD1 (for the ability to tune) so i won't be needing the knock sensor.

 

But on a High HP motor I would like to know if its knocking.

 

You can use an aftermarket system like the J and S safeguard (http://www.jandssafeguard.com/). They work well.

make a det can. that way you dont rely on electronics to tell you something the human ear can detect much more accurately.

 

We're actually in the process of testing out a knock sensor adapter for the D16. We will post up pics, shortly.
