Default Adapter plate question

Does it matter if the adapter plate is aluminum or not? For example, can I use steel to make one? thanks.

Hey, what turbo are making the plate for? I have a steel plate already cut for a T3 turbo and Crx HF manifold. I can sell you the plate already cut, you just need to drill the holes. I also have just the square plate or sheet of metal. 1/2 thick.
