Accel DFI, Knock Sensor Mounting Location.
Where are you guys mounting the gm knock sensor? I had it mounted into the factory positon and it was retarding the timing when I was just driving normal still in vacume or even getting off the gas. My timming was no more then 10 degrees advanced at the time. im 100 percent sure I dont have any knock at those driving conditions.

taking a shot at this , you might not need the knock sensor at all, if you run pistons like JE that slap around that will trigger ignition retard, anyway I dont think the Knock sensor in VTEC motors for example even function after 5000rpm, I think the knock sensor is just there to retard timing for hot running conditions / bad gas????
You have to drill the back of the block above and to the right if I remember to the oil pressure sender just like on the vtec block.

Thanks for the reply, I had it in the stock location and it was picking up knock, so I made a small bracket and attached it off a bolt on the intake manifold. Working great and the tuner agreed with it.

You really don't need the knock sensor because the dfi knock will pick up ANY vibrations from the block. However other things can cause the knock sensor to go off besides denonation. If you have solid mounts, it could cause the sensor to go off etc. The sensor is suppose to be on the block somewhere, if you have it install on the intake manifold you might as well throw it away because it's unless there.
edit- fyi I usually install them on the back of the block and it seems to work fine.
