I know, i just brush it off as he is a F&F child . I like it when he makes an *** of himself, since he tells me that i dont know anything about turbos, since i drive a honda (non-turbo). I have been reading about turbos for over a year, owned one custom turbo kit but sold it and now looking for another. I hope to put him in his place soon

You must have blow off valve and waste gate mixed up...

im pretty sure both have external waste gates, i read i think buschar racing and they say upgrade from the plastic waste gate to a metal one for better boost control i have to say they both have externals oness just plastic and ones metal

OK, so maybe I wasn't so obvious in my last post...

*ahem*

You're thinking of the blow off valve. NOT the wastegate. On the 2G+ Eclipses, the BOV is plastic, and a cheap upgrade is to use a 1G BOV, which is metal. The BOV releases boost from the charge pipe (the shiney tube going to your throttle body) when you shift so you don't get compressor surge (bad thing!). A wastegate regulates the ammount of exhaust gas that the turbine sees. The more exhaust gas, the more boost. Since the wastegate operates in the exhaust and is subject to high temperatures, I seriously doubt that there is such thing as a plastic wastegate.
