Did they make the Type R in 96 here in the states? I thought that it came out in 97 to 2001. I want to upgrade my cams to type r for my turbo b16. Any input? Thanks!

 

i want some one to break down the R camshaft info, because it seems the people selling them dont know jack.

 

 

Are the cam lobes / specs the same throughout the years or do they change?

 

ive got that, but i need to know which are wich.

I know the 98-00CTR's are the most aggressive, but are the 98-00ITRS the same or just 00?

 

I THINK CTR exhaust cams have more aggressive lobes than ITR

 

well jst looking at the pic it says that all usdm/jdm ITR cams are the same between '95 to '00. with the <u>exception</u> of the usdm '00 ITR which is the same as the 98-00 CTR.

 

So if I was looking at 96 Type R cams, they'd be JDM, as USDM's came out in 97 right? And since all years, whether it be JDM or USDM, are all the same except for the 98-00 CTR's then $80 bucks ain't bad for them right?

 

thats up to you. thats cheap for 3 reasons;
[1] they are not itr cams (gsr cams go for that price)...
[2] he/she doesnt know what they are...
[3] they are high on crack

How do I tell the difference between GSR or Type R cams. The dude says they are 96 Type R's but if their not JDM, I don't see how they would be Type R's

 

Bro. if you don't see it in that picture above, then it doesn't exist. That is as straight forward as it gets.

There is no USDM Type R for 96, unless he purchased it in late 96 as a 97 model.

Once again if it doesn't look like the cam profile for 97-99 USDM then it is NOT a type R cam.

Otherwise sounds fishy...

 

i cant tell the difference between the ctr and itr cams. whats the difference.

 

Sorry to bring the dead horse back, but since I didn't see the 01 ITR cams in the pic, I was wondering if 00 are the same as the 01 ITR cams?
