95 Civic B18C top mount turbo kit
Been looking into turbo kits for my B18C swapped 95 Civic hatchback. Not trying to buy a cheap crap Ebay kit. Best bang for the buck from a fairly reputable manufacturer seems to be a Turbonetics ramhorn manifold kit (Ebay) for about $1200. Really not interested in a cast manifold.

...the kit I was looking at.
Here's the kicker - I really want a top mount kit but am having a really hard time finding anything reasonably priced in a pre-packaged kit. I've priced some individual pieces but the kits seem to be priced much better.
I'm looking to spend not more than about $2000. Might have to just get the ramhorn kit for that price as top mount manifolds seem to be at least $600+ for anything decent.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Best way to go , is a put together kit , and if u really want a kit , I'd check out Full race, AFI , Etc.. Forget about Ebay , dude.
U also got to put , what HP goals you have, purpose of the build? Etc etc, so the HT pros could guide you the right way.
Anyways, good luck with the build , and Post PICS !!!

Not really concerned with an exact horsepower number, that may come later. Car is mostly a daily driver but I take it to the drag strip for some late night drags a few times a year. Really just having fun with the car.
I've heard those Turbonetics kits are pretty good for the price, would just prefer a top mount manifold for aesthetics, etc.
Main problem I have with piecing together a kit is sourcing all the parts from seperate vendors... just kinda a pain but may have to deal with it eh.

Piecing together a kit is not the best way. It should be phrased this way, "piecing together a kit is one way to turbo a vehicle !"

If your on eBay cxracing makes a tubular top mount manifold for 419.00 us dollars free shipping
If your on eBay you can easily turbo your car for way cheaper then 2000 but I wouldn't buy a full kit cause most of the small things in the eBay kits are trash apart from cxracing and Godspeed
Just type in "b18 top mount" and scroll down

Yea and I intend to. I think I may go with the Go-Autoworks top mount kit. It's a bit more than I wanted to spend, but seems like it comes with good quality components, good reviews, and good support.
It looks like the top mount kit with 55 a/r turbo and 3" downpipe is going to be the best match for me.

Ditch the topmount idea...Its overkill and you wont see any gains from it.
If you're on a budget, find a shorty ramhorn, 3" dp, 50 or 57trim garrett, 550cc injectors, fill in the details and run it. A quality setup is going to cost $3-3500 considering you need a clutch, turbo setup, an oil line kit, injectors, a fuel pump, and tuning.

Re: 95 Civic B18C top mount turbo kit
I dont think anybody else mentioned this but a Turbo Kit is just the tip of the ice berg. So that $2000.00 you said you are willing to spend, you might want to add few more $$'s to that number. Supporting mods such as injectors, 3 or 4 bar map sensor, management unt, TUNE....the list goes on. You cant just buy a turbo kit and expect it to operate like a charm right after everything is bolted up...just my (Warning). But good luck with the project. There are numerous ways to build up a turbo system, so research and researh again.

Re: 95 Civic B18C top mount turbo kit
The $2k number was for the kit alone, and I may end up spending a bit more on it. I already have full 3" exhaust, Hondata s300, with injectors and fuel pump coming soon.
The main reason for the top mount manifold is aesthetics / personal preference.
The ram horn is a distant second option but these kits seem much more affordable.
Go-Autoworks and AFI both have ramhorn kits closer to $2500 and that may just be what I have to do.... deal with ugly ram horn manifold instead of beautiful top mount deliciousness. Or bite the bullet, spend the money, swipe the card.

Re: 95 Civic B18C top mount turbo kit
Also I've seen cast top mount manifolds on eBay for 180 bucks for b series
My friend has had one on his b16 for 4 years without an issue with that manifold
Just peice everything together
Unless you are trying to make some rediculous amount of hp then buy a cast top mount, a used garrett turbo or holset
Some Dsm 450cc injectors
A chipped ecu
A cxracing intercooler kit
And buy good bov/wastegate
No point to spend 2000 dollars on a turbo kit when it's all just for the name
Everything I named could all be purchased for under 1000 dollars together
Intercooler won't break
Turbo is name brand
Manifold is cast so no cracking
Injectors come factory on a turboed car!
And all looks just as good as another kit that comes with a cast manifold

Cxracing is nothing more than made in china garbage. Godspeed is not much better. I wouldn't put their parts on my kids sand box!!!
