"this was also posted in Teg forum but i figured it'd help here too"
k so my cousins in town for the weekend an id like to help him fix his **** before he leaves today... so to the issues..
1. overheats on tbe cluster while driving, but when he slows down/stops the temp goes back to normal... He said since hes got his **** tuned its been doin that.. Bout 5 months ago he put new water pump, and thermostat.. When he pops the hood he said it doesnt smell like its overheating, and when he checks his coolant its filled all the way... He had a compression test done and he said it came back fine..??
2. his 2-step launch was supposed to be at 5500 but its actually at 4k and while on the launch control, he doesnt build up boost at all.. My boosted single spools up real nice n quick on my launch control so im thinkin hes got a vacuum issue maybe..??
3. so far hes replaced, radiator, hoses, thermostat, water pump, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter... The longblock was purchased about 7 months ago from HMotors and its ran fine up until he got it tuned he said... Would a bad tune cause any of these issues...?
thats all i can think of for now, im at work but ill b home in less than an hour to start diagnosing.. im gonna bleed the coolant system " he didnt" and ima take out the thermostat temporarily to see if it helps at all...
oh also, he has a small idle surge sometimes, and his car will sputter through rpms... he said it only does that sometimes but its been constant in the past 3 days hes been here.. And he's not throwin any CEL's...
thanks..

Check to make sure no air bubbles are in the coolant systems. Sounds like there may be some leaks in various places, those need to be checked as well. Best to get another set of EYES on this. The forum is not going to be too much of a help without someone BEING there.

Yeah, he left shortly after i got home "he lives 2 hours north" so i wrote him an included a link to this thread so he can come pick it up... I was just tryna help him get his **** runnin so he dont blow his **** up accidently...
And yeah i told him to try bleedin the coolant, do the thermostat ordeal, check for leaks, and have his coolant checked for exhaust gases... I'm thinkin im on the right track but it's just good to have reassurance..
