9.5:1 itr motor. what turbo?
I was trying to sell my itr motor, but nobody is jumping on it. So i was thinking about getting some 9.5:1 cp pistons, and some eagle rods and just boosting this instead. I have a couple questions. My whp goal is around 450whp. My setup was going to consists of a sc61 turbo .48/.63. And a nice tubular manifold. Here is where my questions start. Would this be a good size for a stock bore lowered compression itr motor.
And second. I was looking at the krbfab k.a. mani. It looks affordable, and the welds look very good. Here is a pic if you haven't seen it
I like the design, and it would work out well with my semi budget build. With some 880cc injectors, the right components, and good tuning does this sound like a good safe setup? 18lbs is what i was hoping to run as far as psi goes. Any suggestions and input would be great. If someone wants to buy my itr motor, in trade for a gsr motor plus some cash thats cool too. But since nobody is jumping on it, then i might as well keep it. Thanks

-SC61 is a ~630 WHP turbo, a bit overkill for 450 WHP.
-.48 and .63 are both A/R ratios attributed to a T3 turbine housing.
-PTE only sells the SC61 as a .63 and IIRC .82 is optional
-Why spend $$$ for custom 9.5:1 CP's when they sell 9:1's off the shelf?
-I'd run an SC34 for quicker spool than an SC61 for only a 450 WHP goal.

Re: 9.5:1 itr motor. what turbo? (turboEGhatch)
thanks for the info. I didnt want to push stock sleeves much past 450whp. So sc34 sounds like a better turbo for my setup looks like then. And 9:1 cp's.
I think you answered all of my questions Thank you.

Re: (redzcstandardhatch)
well i got an itr with some 10.1:1 JE slugs and Probe IB spec rods... street tuned at 10.5 lbs by Brandon at Redzone Performance on a stage 4 60trim turbo...making 305whp/205tq....i am running a Spoolinperformance equal length manifold basically complete kit...
keep your itr motor its a great motor for boost...itr cams love boost...retains the all motor vtec roar...combine with the combination the 4.4 final drive from the itr tranny quick reving gears...its nice for acceleration under boost
you won't be disappointed...9.5:1 is a c/r since you can boost alittle more and not denonate

The SC34 for up 450whp is mainly going to be in the upper rpm range with a higher pressure ratio in order to get to that level. It actully will more than likely reach about 440whp on about 15-16 psi at that compression. Remember. Precision uses a Crank HP reading which does not take into account 18-20 precent driveline loss.
For the 400whp mark there are a couple of other alternatives as well for the ITR motor. PM me.
