As long as your car was tuned professionally by a reputable shop, I wouldn’t worry at all. 1) What does your set-up consist of? From engine mods to turbo size, etc.
2) What engine management are you using?
3) Who installed and tuned your set-up?

what are you asking??

you said you're getting ready to get your car back from being turboed. does this mean it was already boosted?

as in psi... psi doesn't rate what the motor can handle. it's all in the turbo size... for example... 10 psi from a dsm 14b turbo is a completely different world from 10 psi from a gt35r...

As was already said, PSI doesnt mean a damn thing...everything is based on the shear amount of power created. Stay around 300whp or less if you want it to be reliable and last for a while...

I always blow mind up around 135 or so, so keep it under 125 and i think you'll be alright.

8psi on a 50trim is not going to get you 300whp unless you're on a magic dyno...i'm running a bigger turbo on a fairly efficient setup and would be making 300whp around 9psi....

Well the guy that is building it said I will only be able to run like 5-6psi on the stock internals. This upsets me. Is it becauce the B16 high compression?

OMG....you can easily make 300whp on a stock internal B16. My buddy Mike at SLS made 389whp on his BONE STOCK B16 running E85. Just remember that 90% of the people you talk to in life have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to turbo setups

you never know how abused an engine is when it comes from japan, i dont care what anybody says, some engines are in better shape than others, this is going to determine its life under boost, among other things...

Headstuds and a good tune are key man. I have a boosted ls teg with stock block and boost 15psi daily. I have a buddy with a ef b16 and boosts like 20 pounds with race gas at the track then drives it home after. Just make sure you get headstuds and the tune is good if you want to boost over 10psi and what kind of map sensor you running?

God damn, some days i swear people are retarded!!

How many times do i have to say this...who gives a expletive about PSI. That has NO relevance to ANYTHING! Base things in terms of horsepower, or better yet torque. You can use a K03 at 30psi and not make the same power as a GT4202r at 10psi....there's absolutely NO comparison.

If you're running pump gas (91-93 octane) then keep your goals under 315-325whp....if you're running race gas or E85, then shoot higher. Its that simple

your builder said you can only run 6 psi on stock b16?

I would take my car to another shop if I were you.

To the original poster, you should really focus on these two posts, 6PSI is pansy **** to a B series on any turbo. even though as stated many times PSI isnt the key factor to be focusing on. Get a better tuner is the first thing you need to do.
