How many times have the headstuds been torqued down? Generally you can get 3 uses out of them, I would check them out...you may possibly have stretched them out.

If you continue having problems, look into the L19 stud kit or go to a 1/2" stud.

IF your headgasket is smaller than your bore...then your headgasket is hanging inside your combustion chamber. The lip of your headgasket could be heating up and causing pre-ignition. It's ok to go bigger headgasket than your bore but not smaller headgasket than your bore.

i have a 84.5mm bore and we recently pulled the head and found were the edge was barely in the cylinder so we upgraded to a 85mm headgasket.

Golden Eagle gaskets are Honda gaskets. GE just Overbores them to fit Customer Specs. You can also try cometic, but I'd stay with Honda through GE.
