Default 59300 cam worth it?

I did a search and know that the zex/comp 59300 cam is the cam of choice for turbo d16 peeps. I already have a turbo d16z6 crx; but am selling it and building a motor for my ej1. How much of a difference will the 59300 cam make with a 50trim turbo at ~18-20psi (vitara pistons+eagle rods)

It's hard to say how much of a HP difference there is unless you were to do a back to back dyno. That cam has proven itself in the past time and time again. Use it on your new setup.

can you use the stock cam gear with the 59300 cam? I hear it makes good power straight up so I would rather save the $120 on a cam gear.

d-series trannys are a hit or miss, some people have zero problems while others go throug them lot hot cakes. 59300 is a good cam, everyone really likes how it extends your powerband past the stock 7200rpm redline, granted you have the other aspects of your valvetrain upgraded to match.

both trannies were used and abused before i got them. i also rebuilt one with used shifter forks. i have no idea how one with new shifter forks would do. ill find that out this summer.

launching isnt the issues if you preload. shifting like a **** is my problem.
