About the dyno pull in third gear. This wasn't tuned on a dynojet. Dynojet dynos can not put load on a car and simulate real world driving conditions. This is also nice for tuning at individual RPM as the dyno can hold the car at whatever speed you choose. The Dyno Dynamics dyno can by the use of an eddy current brake( if that is how you spell it). It is able to load the car down and if it wanted to could bring it to a stall at full throttle. Basically 3rd gear in a 5 speed and 4th in a 6 speed is what you would want on this type of dyno. If you guy sever have any questions give me a call at my shop 859-367-0641 That is my work number

Thats nice to see someone else is smart and is running an Autronic engine mgt. system. Its the system I run in my race car and its by far the best in my opion. The entry level autronic is equivilant to a Motec m4....thats the SMC. I run the big boy...thats the SM2. Can anyone say...a tunner on the line with a lap top making changes to the car on the line??? And by the way, the car would actually make more power in 4th gear. It gives it more time to run through the gear and hold the power longer.....Looks like anouther succesful Autronic car......Mike

Dynojet Model 248 is capable of using it's brake to hold a car at a certain mph or rpm. It is also capable of producing standard or higher static loads on a vehicle..

So who ever told you opposite was misinformed..

yea, that is my friend dans car. it is not an auto. he has since upgraded the injectors, they were at 100% duty, thats why he didnt turn up the boost more. its an h23 vtec, h23 crank and rods in h22, and yes he kept the oil squirters.
I didnt think the h23 rods and crank droped right in, then again I havent looked into it that much. Damn nice power I could only hope of hiting something that high.

Really was that all was done.. If so then that would make a h22 even more simpler to build and make good numbers with.. Any input would help. That is what the forum is for..

Default Re: Dyno Jet

Last I heard they dyno jets use some sort of water break system but it isn't quite the same as the eddy current. It isn't as accurate and also dynojets have a way of estimating HP unlike the Dyno Dynamics which actually calculate it through a very accurate load sensing device. The dyno jet spins a 2000lb or so drum and while the car actually has to speed the drum up for the computer to calculate HP that spinning drum is also producing power. If the car were to let off instantly that drum is still spinning and creating HP that is why they read higher than the dyno dynamics. Anyway the motor is basically a H22 block with H23 crank, rods, and I had JE make pistons for the H23 bottom end with the H22 head. I don't know if it they had to machine much different than they normally would for a h23. The oil squirters are also in there. The block is sleeved also and that is about it. Some good head porting and a nice valvetrain. Really all of it is off the shelf parts anyone can get.

Actually the way the dyno works is loading the car down enough that the engine has plenty of time to load up and make HP. The dyno has a little dial to turn up the brake and load the car down as much as needed to get an accurate run. It's pretty fun stuff.

What size turbo ? Also do you know a guy named Alan with a LS/Vtec GSR ( Red )95-98? He lives out in Lexington and he has came down to Nashville before and he was talking about a 4th gen lude putting down some nice Hp #s. I'm almost tempted to drive up their to check it out.

Sounds like Mark Willaims will be needed in the near future. His axles setup is nice!

its gotta suck making all that power and not having any traction...552whp in a lude running 12.7... is there any way to get it to run better times?? like suspension and all that stuff?? 552whp gets a supra which is heavier into tens... i wish all hondas were awd or rwd...

I was using old slicks, 26x8 on the stock wheels. I was pulling 2.0 60 foot times. I should have some drag slicks coming soon and my transmission was having problems shifting( like all preluded!!). The suspension wasn't setup for the track as good as it could have been, it was basically just a test and tune session. I hope to see better numbers once I get a the spool inside the tranny with a better gear set.

Did you put in JE pistons with the stock sleeves? if so, how? i was under the impression the block needs to be sleeved?

The turbo is a 60-1, similar to what comes on the Revhard HYPO kits. Yeah, I know Alan he is a very good friend of mine. He moved town to TN a while ago. I think I might be coming down there in the next few weeks.

That is simply amazing power man. Did you dye the heat wrap on the wastegate pipe? Or you can get them in that color cause that looks nice and simple. Good luck with acheiving 630whp!

I havn't heard to much about the axles but I am interested, maybe you can send me a link about the axles. I just need something that can stand up to the extra heft, the car is holding 2600 or so lbs. The DSS havn't held up so far but the new ones I have should be a considerable bit stronger so I guess the next session at the track will tell.
