I know this character who owns a little red civic hatchback and he claims to be making 500 or more horsepower to the wheels with only a t3/t4 turbo and race gas, he says he is running 15 plus lbs of boost, he claims also to be trapping at 130mph in the quarter on street tires and in full street trim, is this even possible? If not what would you have to do to make a civic run those kind of numbers? Do you think this guy is B.S'ing or what do you think he really runs? thanks in advance

that is his setup he's just got the turbo, and some bolt on's i would assume.

i seen his car run on supposedly 10lbs of boost and it ran mid 13's at best, im just asking if this is likely, sure it is possible but i tend to think that it might be a tall tale, you cant run stupid amounts of boost and race gas on a stock motor, it will get destroyed. Besides i just read an article in the drag racing section that the fastest street radial civic only made 418 horse, so i think it may be a stretch that some bum kid in his early 20's is making almost a hundred more horsepower, am i wrong?

 

Alan is in his early 20's. I think 22 or 23 to be exact and he is making I think 571 WHP. And he is a bum too. LOL right Alan! I can be done the only thing I am wondering is if he is doing it with on 15 pounds of boost. I think not. Ask Tony1 on here or Alan.

 

that blue hatchback isnt in street trim, those are slicks on the front and it is probably gutted for racing. This kid has street tires full trim everything and a turbo on a sohc stock motor!! His setup looks nothing like that blue civic

 

Is this kid rich? If so then its very possible to just pull into a tuner shop and say "make this car 500hp+ and ill pay whatever needs to be done". Very possible.

Actually Alan's car has a stereo system, JDM S2000 seats ,complete full dash , power windows, alarm, rear seats, 3 subwoofers in the backend. Would you like me too keep going? He could put regular tires on that car and still prolly pull high 10's or low 11's. So the answer to your question is still yes.

 

one of my friends had a SOHC Turbo Ran his best of 12.1 but i don't think he was pushing nearly 500 HP...

ladysman is running a nice T3/T4 turbo setup on a stock SOHC block.
he dyno'd at 262whp 217lbs/ft tq @ 12lbs of boost. now do you know your answer?

 

very possible. a guy i know has about 670-700whp, runs low 10's trapping at 130+ mph. it's not an easy task though, you'd need probably $10,000+ and a damn good tuner.

the best et with a b series with radials or any type of street tire is mid 11s. with stripped car and built motor.
im sure he won't hit 10s on street tires

 

Did you try asking him for the dyno chart?

Surely if he paid money to have it dyno'ed, he would have kept the printout.

If not, I'd call BS on him.

If it is true(which I doubt), he would have some truly horrible turbo lag.

BTW, if he is trying to tell you this is on a stock block, then ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Your right. Allan is the owner of Honda Heaven here in Arlington, TX. He has a Fully built GSR motor running a Very, Very large T3/T4 turbo with hondata@ like 30LBS of boost (on racegas of corse). He is pushing like 560hp to the wheels I THINK...I COULD BE WRONG ON THIS SO PLEASE DONT FLAME. I do know it was over 500. He does have a full interior and a sound system in this car. In Ennis, TX I seen him run a 10.8 @ like 131mph. His car is very fast for a street car but NO IT ISNT A SOHC.

 

No way in hell, not at 15psi.....maybe at 22-23ish, but i bet that turbo will run out of air.

But it is possible in full street trim. Allan beat me on the highway bad.

 

I think it all sounds believable, with the exception of street tires. Brokenvtec on here made 508hp at 18psi, so the power is feasible. I think he is probrably exagerationg a bit though.

Okay guys, he said it was a stock SOHC making 500+hp @ 15psi. There is no possible way in hell. Maybe for a split second right before the rod flys out and kills someone, but it's BS.
