For that to be "reliable". Have another car ready... The two in the sentence may work for a while, but it will not be cheap in any way, shape, fashion, or form.

I agree, get a beater. but your not even going to need 500whp if your planning on driving that on the street.

how "reliable" your motor will be also will depends on how you drive it also. like you said, its your daily driver so if you want it to last long just dont beat the living **** out of it everytime you drive the car but reliablity will also depend on how well the motor is built and tuned. most people will tell you...."fast, cheap, reliable, you can only pick 2" so just be prepared to put out the cash to keep up w/the maintenance if you want to the car to be "reliable"

well i dont drive like a maniac all the time... and i do have a spare b16 to place in my car if anything happens

i am looking to get 2 years out of it. i think i could because i am only going to beat on it during the summer and i go to school in the fall and spring.

with a conservative tune it should last right?

Im in the same boat as you, thats why my beater will be a budjet sohc turbo.(180-200hp) then break out the beast on the weekends. As long as you depend on one car, no matter what it is, you should always have a back up plan.
