50 trim installe don my 01 jetta 18t NOW WITH PICS edit
woot. ok install is over. after 25 hours straight working on it by steve and his buddy cj. drove the bitch home 300 miles to jersey(ah nice fast-paced jersey) and not one glitch.
the car is currently running 16psi on the stock clutch(slipping bad but no time to install ecs stg2). the car is a beast at 16psi. spool up is absolutely sick. spools so fast. 10psi by 3200, 15psi by 35-3600. wastegate sounds bonkers. open wastegate, no reroute.
440s idle delicious. car is butter smooth. only 1 small backfire the whole way home. and my car did that with the ko3.
still need to get the clutch put in and my diode done(hopefully this week).
pics will eb up tonight of the set-up. no install pics sorry. thanks to steve and cj. and everyone else who helped or put up with me annoying them.
and a big f-u to ihop staff and all the crazy bastards who were there at 7am on a saturday morning.
set-up:
440cc's
passat g60 log mani
its sh50 .48 stage 3 wheel
tyrolsport adj fpr
3"atp dp
atp fmic
mufflex 3" catback
rvm filter clamped onto the stock unplugged maf
tial 38mm .9 bar
turboxs mbc
greddy type s
giac v4 ko3 chip
20psi is the goal for the street and maybe 22psi at the track on race gas. dyno time will follow as soon as the clutch and map clamp are taken care of

T3's fall off their efficiency maps past 2:1 pressure differential, I don't think 22 psi is adviseable.
edit: I'm ASSuming straight T3... if .50 trim T3/4e, pls disregard my noise.

its a t3/to4e 50 .48ar 22 psi should be no sweat.
the revo big turbo software is going to be a future upgrade but i don't have the 700 for it right now. i
'lll also go with a better clutch before i get that far into tuning...

They are heavy cars, but the engines are pretty stout... when you ditch the tiny K03 and up the boost they are decently quick. In that Jetta you could survive an accident at twice the speed it would take to kill you in a Honda that was twice as fast.
A local VW guy has a G60 Corrado stripped bare, it runs pretty strong off the stock G-lader... Richard's supposed to have the turdbo Rabbit together this summer, I think I need to bust his onions about that, it should be downright nasty.

i hope to make 300+whp on pump when it's tuned. should be good for 110 traps or so. the pig weighs just over 3k with me in it sans spare and back seats...

haha im like the only one of my friends who doesnt own a turbo volkswagon. 1.8t is badass and your goal of 300whp should be easily attainable. im soo jealous that you can run that much boost on a stock block with not a damn thing to worry about.(once remotely tuned)
good luck to you with the rest of the project

I know J. Davis, I wasn't saying they were ALL slow, just most of them.. I hate the fact that soo many people buy 1.8t's, put on BOV's and think they are the ****. Well thats how it is around me. . . .I guess it's the same with honda's thou.

Re: 50 trim installe don my 01 jetta 18t NOW WITH PICS edit (m R g S r)
I feel you, m R g S r. Around here they bolt ITBs to stock B16 swaps, running stock ECUs, and claim to eat LS1 and STi's in unstripped hatches. Then get pissed when your boy in a totally gutted and dented up 90 DX and bone stock with no bolt ons LS swap (that turns 8.85 sec 1/8ths and does eat LS1 and STi, and does so when there are witnesses around) eats them.
Just seems to me it's the Honduhboys with the worst attitudes... VWs aren't my cup of tea, but all the Honduhs I see are lots slower on average than the VWs. I gotta have some LARGE degree of respect for anyone slapping a T3/04 on any car. I may be adept at Hondas, but it's fast cars I love.

Im just giving you a hard time, as I do with all of my Kraut friends... I actually like the vee dubs.... My boy Marc has a Vortech charged GTI VR6, that I thought about buying from him.... And I am a fan of anything that makes power, Honda just happens to be my preference.... Although I am planning on a 4G64 powered 91 TSI in the near future....
