My current plan is to run 4 of the 5 bolts, and then run a 5-bolt flange gasket. How can I get a stud/nut on that 5th bolt of the downpipe? The bend is too sharp coming off of the flange, and I don't want to re-do my downpipe.

 

Put a stud in the turbo and use a nut on the downpipe flange.

i cant get a nut on mine, so i plugged the hole in the turbine housing with a stud so it wouldnt leak

 

get a hex bolt. should fit fine, just make sure that it is not as long. It will be a bitch to tighten and loosen.

 

i have a similar problem with my dp. i had to buy a slightly shorter bolt. i put the short bolt in first so i can pull the dp away from the turbo a little bit and not have the head of the bolt smashed again the dp. then i put in the rest of the bolts.

 

all I did was put a b16 exhaust stud in the turbo, and use the exhaust stud nut, but have to put that one in first.

or cut a slot in the flange hole thread the bolt half the way in the turbo and slide the flange on and tighten it down.

 

or you can just weld the flange to the turbo

 

notch the bottom hole on the flange so it will slip over the bolt or stud then tighten and add the rest of the bolts.

exactly what i did. cut out a portion of the flange. tighten up the bolt, them slip the dp on top of it
