Default 4th gen Civics/CRXs with Inline Pro manifolds...

Someone else must have a 4 bolt Inline Pro manifold in a 4th gen Civic/CRX. HOW on Gods green Earth did you get your intercooler to fit without it being so close to the turbo? The manifold holds the turbo so far out, and on an angle, it's way too close. I have removed my bumper support and hacked the hell out of my bumper cover, but it still sits close. I'm out of ideas.

Now I have a bumper that looks like complete ***, no support, and no solution. There must be someone else with the same issue, it's a fairly common manifold.

Any and all help would be very much appreciated.

what size is your Turbo, what size is your intercooler.. and what do you mean by "4 bolt" inline pro manifold? what side do you have your compressor housing on?

Compressor housing is on the driver's side. It's a t3/to4e. By 4 bolt, I mean for a 4 bolt T3 as opposed to a 5 bolt.

Here are some pics:

From the pics, you're putting the 4 bolt manifold on a 4 bolt turbo the way it wasn't designed to work. The reason it's spaced off the block like that is to have the turbo with the compressor on the opposite side... Otherwise, a 5 bolt style manifold would fit much better than that.

I never knew it was designed for the compressor to face the passenger's side.

I wanted the compressor to face the driver's side so that I would have more room for a filter and everything backfired.

You can fit an air filter if you run it the other way.

Just wondering, does anyone know why do they angle the flange on thier manifolds except the T4 version? It looks like it would be easier to clear the radiator with the dp if the flange was square to the motor.

I'm pretty sure I did. I also mentioned the angle. Let me guess...the new dp is for a 5 bolt?

This isn't good, I've had tuning/dyno scheduled on the 15th for over a month now

its positioned like that on the t3 manifolds ot allow for a/c and powersteering, when the turbo is positioned the correct way at least.

as for the T4, they assume b/c of the size of the turbo that there will be no need to a/c or powersteering

Nick, you get all worked up over nothing sometimes... and I don't even know you that well. Drop me a line if you need anything. BTW, if you ever run more than 6psi, which you will, and you don't make alot more pwer than I did... I'm going to kill you.

It would work the other way just fine, but the IC would be about an inch away from the turbine.
