just wondering what you 400hp d16 guys are running for rod and main bearing clearances... and also what about ring end gaps?

i think RPM plays a bigger role with your bearing clearances.

the ring gaps on the other hand are more closely tied to your power output.


with my D16 i got going right now (which made 450whp on 20psi/pump gas) i went with .022/.024

 

well most 400hp d16's run about the same rpm....8500rpms

 

depends what turbo you are going to use, i guess... care to share?

i was taking my 6262 D series setup to 9400-9500rpm

 

it was making power to 9500?

my turbo = precision sc34 bb

 

yeah, flat torque all the way.

dyno plot only goes to 9000 but she pulled just as sweet to 9400. ill be retuning it come this spring.

must be your cam... i only made torque to 8500...but i made alot more torque than you..

i made 403whp and 310 ft lbs.

 

that was only on 20psi and 94 oct pump gas though. so props to danz
