4 inch exaust setups?
i made mine last night. 4 inch stainless dowpipe into 4 inch aluminum exhaust. you can pick the whole exhaust up with 1 hand. if i had to guess i'd say its maybe 6 or 7 lbs?
http://www.burnsstainless.com is where i got the materials. 4 inch stuff isnt cheap, but you gotta pay to play

It must just be me that thinks aluminum is actually cheaper than some other materials. Just curious...what are you guys paying for an aluminum 4" 90? The ones i'm looking at are pretty cheap.
Burns is $$$ but they back up the cost with their quality
I don't want to give a price on the alum material to build an exhaust on here but idk, from my numbers it's fairly cheap.

yea, I was just thinking that people thought the piping was expensive. The welding and v-bands will add up. Also if people used v-band on their steel exhaust that would add up also. Alum piping is cheap imo compared to stainless.
ok I'm rambling now....on with the thread....

ok just had to add this....even tho it's 3", there was one vband used on the entire exhaust, so really they won't add up if your only using one, lol.....borrowed pic from tony, completely sick exhaust, i'd probably polish it up more and hang it on the wall of my garage, lol
on a civic you need atleast 2 vbands b/c of the rear controll arm.
it takes a long time to weld around a 4 inch pipe! dont forget the price of welding materials, cutting materials, sanding materials, cleaning materials, the amount of time it takes to make the 4 inch exhaust fit (everything is very tight)
i made mine by myself last night on jack stands in the show room on carpet. it was a challange to hold everything in place and mark it....and even more of a challange to try to get it tack welded with out having somebody there to hold it. it also didnt help that there was 10 cars parked in the shop so i had NO room to work with!

Damn Joe, I need to see pics of this shop. Sounds like you have all kinds of stuff going on there but no where to do it. Were you not worried about burning the showroom carpet?
Ok, I'm just gonna stop saying it's not expensive to do. When i finish a few kits, keep that in mind that they ARE expensive.
I'm no salesman and don't try to make a living on this stuff.
Keep in mind I was stating that the alum exhaust is not more money when the same factors are included...compare a 4" alum kit to what a 4" steel, stainless or whatever kit would be, you would have the same variables to deal with, use the same amount of v-bands etc...but anyway, i'm not debating about this at all. Keep an eye out for the kits when they are ready....till then, I stay :x
