4 inch Dp, AC?
Im building a prototype manifold/DP combo thats pretty much un-heard of. It allows the use of a full 4" downpipe, in CONJUNCTION with AC on all B series motors, in EG/EK/DC chassis, possibly some of the EFs w/some modifications.
Pictures soon, but is there any interest for something this extreme? The answers will determine pricing, and if I actually begin producing these, or keep them one-offs.
I guess to keep this more tech related, has anyone seen a 4" downpipe used with AC???

I have a 3" DP on now with A/C and i just dont know how in the world you could fit a bigger DP on the 99-00 SI's. Sure id like to see pictures of a 4" dp on a 99-00 civic with a/c, if you can do it.

Re: 4 inch Dp, AC? (fipracing_com)
Ive done a lot of thinking out side the box with this setup. With a 4" Downpipe, everything is contained within 7" from the head-flange surface of the block. AC line/condeser adjusting will probably be necessary, but it should be trivial compared to the gains from 4" of pure madness(I thought she wanted 12" ).

I dont know if a 4 inch DP would provide good gain on a street setup... I mean on a 300-350 whp or so setup, like mine ???
I have a 2.5 inch DP right now and I was considering the fabrication of a 3 inch this winter... I run a Lovefab SST with no AC. Should I go 3.5 inch or 4 inch if it fit ??
If the gain are there you should do it Cody... but I cant say if it worth it or not ?

That'd be awesome. I believe you can make a 4" downpipe work w/ the hytech header and keep AC. Or well, at least Cheesefrog was going to try too. Is this manifold also going to give wastegate primary flow? I think you should make it.

Yep, primary flow wastegate, 4-2-1, top mount turbo design Making anymore sense yet? Yes radiator hose work will be required, but thatll be an easy option for the consumer to purchase, or even easier to make him/herself.

Damn, sounds a lot like what I was thinking of making for my car at some point. Good luck with it.
Nobody will complain about ripping it off someone else, but be ready for copies of it to start showing up.

This would be interesting to see for sure Cody. Way to go, keep coming up with new ideas. One suggestion would be to offer a "kit" with the manifold of stuff you would need in order to get it to fit you know. Keep up the good work.

thank you, and yes there will probably be many copies.
Yep, a complete kit will be ready by spring, including turbo, all the goodies.
I dont know about "perfect", but provided it fits as well as Im hoping on customer's cars, it could be a completely new direction

Ahah tubular, no boost spikes, and 4" downpipe w/ AC.. How much more spoiled do they need to be?

Re: 4 inch Dp, AC? (Tinker219)
good to see you experimenting with different ideas man. Ill post pics of the new manifold i built for my civic, no way is it AC compatible, but definately a 4-2-1 style, which can be done a ton of different ways. good luck
