36 lbs on stock bottom end
the stock bottom end (never been touched) is a gsr, with a b16a head.
this customer got hold of a potato turbo and wants to run big boost on his engine. a friend told him he cant run more than 8lbs max, but i say his friend is full of ****.
can 36lbs of boost be run on a stock bottom end?
remember, this guy doesnt give a **** about efficiency...just braggin rights.

Re: 36 lbs on stock bottom end (CallMeJesus)
Lemme guess. That customer is you.
Otherwise I wouldn't even think about trying it. What else does it have? Fuel setup? Management? etc etc.
Or else, tell him to run 40 psi, then he'll come back to you for a rebuild when he blows his ish up. But I'm not like that...

i like this. good answer, but no, the customer is not me. i personally dont like turbos.
id tune the ecu, make my own adj. fpr, get some dsm injectors and do the necessary work.

Re: 36 lbs on stock bottom end (CallMeJesus)
Not to be a smart ***, but I doubt you'll find a set of oem dsm injectors that will deliver enough fuel for anywhere near 40 psi of boost, even with your homemade fuel pressure regulator.
Tell your customer you need to build him a motor and it will cost more dollars than sense to do this on a street car.
Also, I vote that you don't post completely rediculous questions on Honda-tech, as there are already more than enough.
One more thing, here's a good book for you..

Re: 36 lbs on stock bottom end (CallMeJesus)
Wait... so this guy read SCC's Project Silvia, went out and bought a Disco Potato(GT28RS) and wants to run 36psi for bragging rights?!?! HAHAHA!!!
You've got to be kidding me!
I don't think a GT28RS could even push 36 psi inefficient or not... Not to mention it won't make any power over about 18-19 psi.

customer. does that mean u work in a shop? u can run as many pounds as you want its just a matter of how quick the motor blows up. on 36 pounds i give it 2 minutes.
