320whp exhaust size???
Ok so my goal is 320whp. I have a bone stock b16a, with golden eagle fuel rail, aem fpr, 1000cc RC injectors, walbro, t3/t4 50 trim turbo, 2 1/4 IC piping and a 2.5 inch down pipe. I currently already have a full axle back exhaust (2 1/4 piping) with resonator and magnaflow exhaust. Will the 2 1/4 piping I have now hurt me? If I upgrade to 2.5 will it make a huge difference? reason I am asking is cuz before I decided to boost, I had just paid to get my piping redone. And I really like the way it came out and it sounds. Super quiet. and clean look. If the horsepower gain is significant enought I will upgrade to a 2.5 inch exhuast

Was the exhaust crush bent or mandrel bent? Not that really matters seeing as 2.25 is too small regardless...the turbocharger in itself has noise cancellation characteristics similar to a muffler so sound isn't going to be an issue..power wise you'll need to upgrade the reason I did ask if it was crush bent though is because u might even need to get 3inch piping seeing as crush bending reduces the diameter of the piping

Re: 320whp exhaust size???
if its stock block you will have a hard time pushing the motor on that exhaust, whereas if its a built block you could probably make that power no problem
the 3" exhaust will just make it more efficient and you wont have to push the motor/turbo as hard to make the power
so is it possible, yes.. is it the most efficient way to do it? no

Re: 320whp exhaust size???
I'm running all motor right now but my exhaust setup will remain for the most part the same, i run a 4-2-1 header into a 2.5" delete, then dumped with an ecut, then downsized into 2", 26" glass pack, into a stock muffler with a chrome finisher. The more restrictive exhaust is for quiet operation and low-end torque(when turboed it will help me spool faster at lower rpms so i'm not forced to rod on my car or bog it around town) and also so i don't get annoyed driving places and the stock muffler for floating under the radar of course, but the cut-out helps for high-end power and intimidation of those ***gots in their riced out grand-ams and escorts, in-fact it makes a very notable difference at high rpms and i lose a great deal of low-end also. So what is my advice? keep your current exhaust but upgrade to an electronic cut out for when you do want to make power. Because turbos are choked out with restrictive exhaust setups so you lose a lot of power at high rpms, so low-end torque for cruising, quiet tone...then loud as **** and high-end torque when you give it the nuts. Seriously i can about bet you that you will make probably 20hp upgrading to a cutout just by unrestricting your turbo. That's all, sorry for the long comment.

Not sure what the car inspections are like in Nevada but here in North Carolina I got a bunch of grief over an e-cutout......some law about the exhaust can't be dumped before the rear wheels. It was enough of a pain that I just upgraded to a full 3" exhaust. It was pretty nice having a quiet stock exhaust (catback) and then being able to flip a switch and have the quick spool and power that a cutout provides.

Ok e cut out sounds perfect and in nevada the laws aren't that strict as far as I know. Know I have never heard of an e cutout till today. Where can I get one? What's a good brand? Relatively easy to install? And can I do an e cutout to 2.5 be good? Or will I need one to a 3 inch?
