Default 300hp boost build - overbore

Hey guys.

I've got a dilemma.
I'm wanting 300hp from my b16a2. I'm running a medium sized ball bearing turbo.
I'm rebuilding my block, but I've got 2 choices.

1 - I have a block with a recent 0.5mm overbore and fresh hone. I have srp pistons and eagle rods for this block.

Or 2 - I have a stock block with stock pistons and rods.

I'm worried that the 0.5mm overbore will weaken the cylinders too much, and I don't want to blow it up.

Any suggestions?

stock block will handle 300whp in its sleep man
as long as you check everything and ensure your good.
600whp has been made off a stock b16 block.

So you say that stock block with stock pistons and rods is the way to go then?
I have arp main and head studs ready to go too.

Plus all the money in parts you put into it. But yea, if you're only aiming for 300hp, just use the stock block. I wouldn't use the over-bored one if I were in your position, mostly for the sake of mind, but also on the off-chance that boring it at would weaken the cylinder walls just enough for them to crack.

Sanman is right the stock block can safely make that power. But I also dont think 0.5mm bore is anything to lose sleep over either. Ask that question to the B20 kids and you'd get a different answer.

How long do you think you could make that power before something goes wrong?

3 years now and going and not the only one to do it either

the question you should ask is how long would an idiot when it comes to driving expect to have that block stay together

Well if you drive like an idiot and want to go fast, you shouldn't be running on a turbo'd stock block then. lol

Hm. Putting a turbo on a car to go faster is dumb. I guess I've been doing it wrong all this time. No man here. 19 year old.
