Default 3" downpipe and exhaust help please.

Hi HT,

I need help on deciding if a 3" turbo back exhaust is needed for my setup.

Current setup:

B18b
Drag 3 turbo kit
Hondata s300 with boost by gear (1st-2nd 8.5lbs & 11lbs for 3rd-5th)
660 injectors
2.5 down pipe running second external 60mm waste gate for open DP to factory type R exhaust
Walbro 255

285 whp - 177tq on dyno jet.

My turbo is the Turbonetics .57 trim included in the Drag kit

I don't start building boost until about 3200 rpm and full boost about 4700rpm.

Will going to a 3" DP and 3" full turbo back exhaust help with spool and get me to full boost faster ?

I tried to search but most are either mildly built or seriously built motor and the data does not pertain to me ( i could be wrong)

I have a chance to buy a full 3" DP and Thermal R&D 3" turbo exhaust for $300 in perfect shape. the setup has a high flow 3" cat included ( I am running catless right now)

Will this $300 help me in any way since i am basically running open DP with the 60mm waste gate opening @ 2lbs of boost in my current setup?

Thanks for the time and advice in advance.

Eddie

What is the current size you have now?
If I'm not mistaken, if you go to a larger size youll have to get a retune to utilize that increased size

Ya don't even have to retune. Yes. It works. Relieves backpressure and increases power a lot more than the same thing on NA.

right now now DP is 2.5" with a Y pipe connected to a 60mm wastegate that opens @ 2lbs the rest is connected to a USDM Factory ITR exhaust.
