Well my motor was smoking and didn't sound right so I started to look for the cause and after a compression check I saw a problem in #4. I thought it was just rings but after the tear down I see that the rings are in fact not the problem. Instead I have 3 broken pistons and the other that looks like it may be cracked. So for the experts here look at my sig and if you come up with anything that stands out as being a problem let me know. I have about 70,000 on the car and maybe 2500 since the turbo install. Finally I am about flat broke and I have no parts on order yet. Best prices are welcome.

Not much cash and I need this car for a cross country trip at the end of the month. So much for a sweet rebuild, just looking to get it back together.

there is no need for a standalone at 7 pounds................if he got maybe bigger injectors and/or at least retarded his timing... then none of this would of happend..
7psi does not require a standalone to run safly.

i wouldnt say standalone is not needed even for 7 psi. but i think that it is quite doable at 7 psi with no stand alone. just bigger injectors and a AFC would be fine. i think their are other key factors as to why this happened other than the fact that he didnt have HONDATA or AEM EMS. i am running 10 psi with 450 injectors and AFC and im running fine. but i could be just lucky.

Yeah I have a 255lph in tank. But stock injectors. I have a set of accel 310's but I'm not sure if I can run them with the FMU. Or should I say they didn't work with the FMU and I am not sure if I can run them without the FMU. 440's and the hack would work or so I am told with no FMU and I think I would have to pull the missing link too. Help I don't want this to happen again.

Which is why instead of being a cheapo you should have gone for a standalone int he first place and saved money in the long run.

You found out the hard way that you cannot run an in-tank pump with a 12:1 FMU. That 255 lph pump dies off at around 80 psi and the 255 lph HO will die off around 105 psi. At 7 psi, you need a 125 psi capable pump.

my friend has a set of use je 81mm (stock bore) pistions and crower rods for a gsr he might sell...hes going with a different setup, hes also has a set of brand new main bearings as well but they might not be the right size for your crank..PM me if you are interested in the rods/pistons
edit: forgot, he also has a set of factory jdm gsr rods/pistons in great shape with less then 40k on them that he needs to get rid of
