Default 3 bar map sensor question?

On my turbo gsr 98. I keep having problems with my map sensor and it fouling out and then my car running bad. If I get a 3 bar map sensor, will I need a new ecu as well? I heard that bigger map sensors run at a lower voltage so you must have a map program written on a new ecu. If so where can I get a 3 bar and what kind of ecu should I get as well? All I have right now for tuning is a apex AFC which just doesn't cut with all I have modded.

i was using an afc with a missing link at 12 psi with no codes, if u get a 3 bar u have to chip the ecu for it to work right.

That is what I was going to do. I bought a missing link but my map sensor has been reolcated by the strut tower through a vacuum line so the missing link wont fit. I put the sensor back on the throttle body a closed up the vacuum line but it ran rough and would not let me boost passed 5 or 6 when I normally boost like 12 psi. What is my deal?
