Default 3.5 liter pistons

went to the dyno with a friend and his turbod 3.5 5 seater dune buggy and damaged the pistons, does anyone know of a forged set of pistons and rods made for an 05 3.5 honda pilot motor, or anyone that can make them. the best we could get was 305 hp before it started smokeing and puking oil from the turbo, could be pistons, head gasket, turbo and possibly ran out of injector, any help would be awesome

Companies like JE, Diamond, etc will custom build a set of pistons if you send them the specs. You need to know your **** to do that however.

yeah i figured it would have to be a total one off project. yeah we're pretty sure that the pistons got damaged, we performed a compression test on the dyno and came up with 120s on 2 cylinders, so then did a leak down test it revealed the same thing. so i guess it could be just rings but we havent torn it apart yet, thats the project for today. we got the fuel pressure up to 58-60 psi, boost around 7 psi for now, 440 injectors, which i think ran out before we could even try to dial it in. i do feel oil pressure played a part in the puking of oil out of the turbo though. so we tried an oil restriction filter, but were on able to really run it after installing that. what do you all think, i think a bottem end rebuild, larger turbo, and larger injectors are in order to make his goal.

yeah, give me a few. i can't lie the thing is wicked, it lands like a pillow with 24 inches of suspension travel. now if we can get the horsepower up to 400ish, wheelies on the highway at about eighty is his goal

thanks for the info. you wouldnt happen to know what size acura mdx injectors are, or any of their other models injector sizes are? we're questioning if hes even running 440s, and he should go with at least 680s

Guys are easily making 300 whp with DSM 450 injectors in a 4 cylinder motor, so you should have little or no trouble making 400whp with 6 injectors.

well its confirmed he blew the rings on three cylinders. it didnt get into the walls or valves though so thats good news. Bad news is a forged set of pistons and rods are going to take a while. if theyre in stock around here, we might get a set of factory pistons and rings, and see if it cant get tuned better for now. the air fuel is whacked and haltec is kind of a pain.
