Just thought I'd bump up for good info. I'm starting to lay out my downpipe, and I probably will end up needing one for a tight turn.

Ok.. maybe I'm just an idiot.. or maybe its lack of sleep... but how exactly do they make a mandrel donut like that? It has no weld marks at any point it appears, so its not like they bend it around the weld it together? *shrug*

can this clear AC with a 3''? it looks like a tight enough bend.

it wont clear AC unless you have a custom Manifold.. At least w/ an INline Pro mani... I had to modify my 3" DP to clear the AC..

This bend has radius the same size as the diameter piping [for 3" pipe, it has a 3" radius]. I still don't think you'll clear the AC with most manifolds...at it's least, it's going to be 4.5" away from the flange.

I'm going to use one for my sidewinder setup. Should have PLENTY of room for AC

Oh yeah, I think they make it by bending it out of a sheet and welding the inner seam.

allows for a tight bend, like when making a downpipe

the donuts have an inner seam that needs to welded after cutting. its basically two donut halves welded together then ground down/polished. tight radii bends are nice, expensive, but nice. .with a FR T4 AC mani, you can run a full 3.0 in downpipe with a v-band clamp

The inner seam is OPEN on that donut.

This is what you make out of it:
