3" cat
hey guys
With a full race down pipe and Thermal exhaust, will I still need a cat or does the downpipe go all the way to the exhaust? If I need a cat still, anyone know where i can get a good one? Say 3" or so? or do I just need to go test pipe? Thanks.

cat is just for emissions purpose there is really no need for one unless you want to pass emission which is still tough with a turbo kit on there. I reccommend ditch that just extend your downpipe out and use flex bellow section to connect to your 3" exhaust

Using a cat I could build a turbo system than is 49 state street legal.
Not using a cat I could build a turbo system than is 49 state street legal on cars 1974 and older.
It's all about environmental responsibility. I can see race cars not using cats, but daily driven cars should always use them.

Its also a huge fine in some states for not having one.

do you guys know how much the sound of the thermal exhaust will change if i remove the cat? I know on some exhaust like my old greddy evo, the tone got really loud and high pitch. cool but too loud and got in trouble one too many times.
