Default TURBO B16 is 235f BAD?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿

Okay I live in phoenix and it’s hot as hell like 100f-115f. I’ve been running 210f before freeway and 225f on the freeway in the day time and sometimes at night. As soon as I get off the freeway it drops to 210f-220f. The stock temp gauge goes horizontal and the mechanical gauge says 210f-225f. the heater blows 150f on the freeway and 135f on the streets. I replaced the thermostat 180f, just replaced radiator with a aluminum radiator, replaced headgasket oem, new hoses, new cap, new coolant, bleed it correctly, new temp sending sensor, new slim line fan 2000cfm and it blowing in the correct direction. presure test it 170psi across. And I have spacer on the hood so it kinda a cowl. What next? Timing belt? Water pump?

what does crome read?

where is your sensor reading the coolant at? is it where the stock sensor is in the head?

i don't think that's good, but i also don't know what the ecu ECT is reading and where the sensor is, say the sensor is in the head, where the gauge cluster sensor is located...well you may get false positives, because the aluminum can act like a heatsink and warm the sensor hotter than the coolant.

Where is your sensor located? From the stock sensor I read 190 after a one 5th gear pull and 195 after 2 in about 80* weather. I stay at 180 when it is colder out.

235 is not going to hurt anything, just make sure your hoses are decent. Technically 210 is perfect, 235 is hurting anything. You can try venting some of the underhood air (spacers on your hinges, take the weather stripping out of the wiper gutter) and wrapping your manifold helps too.

umm... a timing light would show if your ignition was off, by just timing the car, if your timing belt was 'stretched' you'd have more problems. Timing belts should be changed every 60k miles.

235 is too damn hot.

I prefer the coolant temps in the 190-200 area, if it is constantly over 210, there may be an issue that you need to track down.

what your comfortable and what is safe is two different things, I have the same issue as him, its summer, my radiator is half size, I have a intercooler blocking it, and a ramhorn that works like a convection oven

DO you have a piece blocking the air from going in on the drivers side of the bumper... at free way speeds the air might be going on that side making it harder for the fan to pull air through..... just a though hope it helps....

235 is pretty high. Cars that are built generally run hotter, especially with sleeves.

Make sure you have no air bubbles in your system, and wire your fan to run all the time... see if your fan running all the time might keep it cooler.
