Default 2002 accord 305 whp and 298 ft-lbs on 8 lbs

i tuned a 2002 accord on saturday on crome gold. the motor is completely stock. i had to detune the car since it was maxing out the 440cc injectors... the car was still going lean up top.... 12.4:1 a/f. i lowered the rev limit a bit to keep the car a bit safer. i left it at 290whp at 8 lbs

i forgot what turbo setup the customer had. but i had tuned the car before on the stock exhaust and cat. we then retuned it on a full 3" exhaust.

this was on 8 lbs.

im suprised it made this much power. i thought it was overboosting but i checked the boost with two guages.... 8 lbs!

Why do people jerk off over boost #'s? So what if it made x amount of power at x psi?

It's not like making 1000 hp at 10 psi is safer than 1000 hp at 20 psi.

making 1000whp on 10 psi is safer than making 1000whp on 20 psi..... IAT temps r higher with more boost and less efficient turbo.

im just stating that the power figures suprised me for a F22. I'll get the info in the turbo kit when the customer comes back

IAT's are higher when you choose the wrong turbo for your setup. Shooting 20 psi out of a T25 is unsafe, yes. Choose a turbo in your efficiency range and psi really becomes a moot point.

this thread is not about psi vs power. im just posting it up cuz i never expected this much power from this car. its the most hp from a F series engine i've tuned

btw slipknots the ****! i would never go in one of their pits..... i might come out with a few teeth missing

I bet it hauls *** compaired to before. I always enjoy seeing before/after dynos shoing NA and boost. I like how you can see it takes just 200 RPM of WOT to lay waste to the NA lines down that low. "NA is BEST" stickers make me laugh.

Contrary to popular belief, this is true to a point. Its all about the turbo's efficiency range and how that meshes with engine flow.

Lol...gotta love Slipknot

Also, what turbo are you running?? It must be rather large (dare i say oversized) for your setup

damn that torque is nuts. Here is a stock block sohc non vtec f22 i tuned not long ago on 112octane

we were hoping for a shitload of torque, but boost creep was a major issue and it would slowly creep all the way to redline. This was on a 10psi spring, but was hitting 20psi

If we could get it not to creep and use the boost controller to up the boost instead of it just doing it on its own i'm sure we can get some monster torque numbers.

Here is his old dyno with a much smaller evo III turbo on 9psi with a more restrictive mani and exhaust for comparison. Dont mind the jumps in the graph. The tach signal was going crazy.

holy **** matt, that was some crazy *** boost creep!

oh and the 1st graph i posted above where the accord made 197whp is not a NA dyno, it was a turbo dyno pull with stock exhaust and cat

Wasn't expecting this in here. It's wrong anyway for a few reasons. I guess the mentioned IAT's would be slightly higher but a few other reasons came to mind.
1. a turbo at 1000hp and 20psi is working harder than a turbo at 1000hp and 10psi
2. the effective compression ratio for 20psi is much higher than 10psi which is worse for a given octane fuel.

yea tell me about it. We will be redynoing in the spring with a larger wastegate.

Was that stock exhaust and cat dyno on the same boost as the other dyno? I always tell people not to even dick around with small exhaust and just go straight for the 3"

It was stock exhaust and supposedly a gutted cat. if the cat was gutted, then whoever did it did a bad job. yup both runs were on the same boost level. the car struggled before w/ stock exhaust but the customer still loved how the car felt after the 1st tune . he's probably **** n his pants now with an extra 100whp

numbers look alot better on the retune... and about on the money for a well laid out f series setup.

as said above, what turbo... obviously something decent in size and still efficient at the lower boost numbers here.

nah i dont have eCtune. i dont think i can afford the dealer version right now. I got Crome GOLD now, which imo is better than Crome PRO. i want to see if i still have ignition problems on high HP cars with crome gold. im gonna retune Dusty's car in february... hopefully i can pull 650+ hp outta it

probably more if crome gold solves the ignition problems!

I cant wait for feb when track opens up. im still trying to hit my goal of high 11's. 12.3 so far i'm getting close! orlando speedway sucks. after that i'm bringing you my vitara setup 400whp or bust!

kerry tuning FTW
