I wonder how long they'll last before they snap. I'm running OEM as well. I think I'll just replace them when they do decide to go.

I was able to run 2 seasons on the oem axles running mid to high 10's . I finally broke the tripod bearing on the inner joint . The axle was still fine though . Pre loading is key along with not letting the car wheel hop .

I have good news and bad news to report.

The good news is I received my new RLD-Fab turbo manifold the other day. Thanks again Ron!

The bad news is I need a twin disc. My ACT Extreme Pressure Plate 6 Puck Sprung clutch started to slip. What is everyone running for a twin disc that drives their cars on the streets?

On the bright side, at least I will get to install my beautiful new turbo manifold tomorrow.

Short answer: YOU DON'T run a Twin Disk on the street, especially if its more street than strip.. You just need another clutch that's newer after your "learning" experiences on the drag strip.

I second this...no need for twin disk on the street. Ive had good success with competiton clutches. No experience with ACT. Are you using a aftermarket Flywheel?

That is a nice manifold! really great job on the tear drop design for the wastegate.

Even those that use the Reaper use Clutchmasters Stage 4 (FX400) to easily do over 670whp. Twin plate shouldn't be used.

Is that the clutch you recommend sir? How many miles and how many hits at the track have you seen them last? I will definitely have to start looking into the Clutchmasters clutches.

Thank you sir. Yes I am also running an ACT Streetlite flywheel. How many miles have you put on your Competition Clutch? I want something that I can drive on the streets and still be able to handle my 24.5 inch slicks at the drag strip sir.

Absolutely, I recommend it. I've had those clutches for years and others that use them take them to the drag strip for that purpose street/strip, and do quite well. But please be honest with yourself with how often you plan to go to the drag strip. If your purpose is street/strip its best to stay that way.

You guys would be speechless on what I am running for a clutch. I just pulled the clutch out of my setup a few weeks back. I should have taken some pictures of it. I thought I remembered putting in a six puck disc. Nope. Was a full face disc. Running a 10 year old Action pressure plate over it. The disc still had the grooves in the fiber like it was new. And it probably had 40 or so track hits on it in a full weight LX sedan. I am going to be running a CC twin disc with the new setup, probably be looking into a FCV to go with it. I will do quite a bit of street driving on it as well. A lot of people have good luck with the CC units.

The clutch probably had 8500 naturally aspirated miles, 2500 boosted miles, and 8 hits at the drag strip. My car also weighs 2770 with me in it.

Wow. That is low mileage and low hits for it. I have not weighed mine since I got it bone stock, but it weighed 2440 rolling when I got it. Subtract AC and add the turbo setup and driver, rough estimate adds 250 (220 of driver), and I am pretty close to 2700. I need to hit the scales after I get it back together. Our mileage is probably pretty close to the same. I drive mine a little over 70 miles each way to and from the track. Probably put around 3000 miles on it last year alone.

I only weigh 160lbs soak and wet. Haha. I am hoping that my next clutch lasts for at least two seasons if possible.

Check out the Action 2MD. I have been pleasantly amazed by that clutch. I am not sure what you were making for torque, but I was right in the 340 range. Might have a lot to do with it. Before I got it, that clutch was on a 11.3x's hatch 93 hatch. Hatch probably weighed 2400, max. Was on a 84mm GSR with a t3/t67HO back in '04. I bought it off of my buddy back then, and used it on my stock LS for a year with the new disc before I put in my turbo setup late in 2011. Since then, I have beat the crap out of the car, and when I saw it a few weeks back, I was amazed at the condition. Now it is going in an EJ1 with an 81mm GSR and an SC6152E. Keeping AC and PS with a SPA manifold, shooting for 450-500. See how it holds up there.

CC Twin is an excellent choice. It'll chatter a bit but it'll take the abuse.

Slowly but surely, I should be dropping her off at JoeB's house this week so that he can make some adjustments to my dumptube and downpipe.

I am also still kind of undecided about what clutch I should get.
