all it does is interupt ground to the coil when a certain rpm is reached

Sure. Get MSD's soft touch rev limit module for stock ignitions. Then get MSD's 2 or even 3 step module. Done.

I've always thought about this.....
MSD makes a RPM switch, and you could have it wired in to cut spark at the desired rpm. In order ot make it not cut spark at the rpm while racing, you could wire the switch itself into the clutch, just like the sensor that makes sure you clutch is down in order to start your car? This would be an old fashion clutch cut, and would allow full throttle shifting as well.
I'll check out the MSD box, that sounds rad.
Only problem there is you'll get some serious fuel puddling. MSD's soft touch drops every other spark event as to prevent this. Imagine what would happen if you followed through with your idea and then released the clutch... lot's of fuel + sudden spark = innovative thinking though

i wouldnt recommend it. do it the right way and get a digital 6+, sport compact+, or a 6al to go with the module.

I agree. It's actually not much more for the 6AL and that has the soft touch rev limit built in. That's what I run.
